I Lived and Worked on This $8.9M Rocket 🚀Here’s Why She’s Special to me ⚡️
My last yacht as full-time crew and one of the most unforgettable. ANTELOPE IV is sleek, fast, and built for movement. With her shallow draft, she can slide right up to the beach, hit 35 knots without breaking a sweat, and take guests where most yachts in her size class simply can’t. She wasn’t just a job for me, she was an experience and one I am proud of.

🔹 M/Y Antelope IV — Key Specs

• Length: 43.12 m (141’ 6”)
• Beam: 7.6 m (24’ 11”)
• Draft: 1.45 m (4’ 9”)
• Gross Tonnage: 343 GT
• Builder: Italyachts (2012)
• Designer: Andrea Bacigalupo
• Hull / Superstructure: GRP
• Engines: 3 × MTU 16V 2000 M93
• Propulsion: Triple water-jets
• Top Speed: 35 knots
• Cruising Speed: ~30 knots
• Range: ~500 nm
• Guest Capacity: 10 guests in 5 cabins
• Special Feature: Ultra-shallow 1.45 m draft — ideal for beach-close cruising and accessing hidden bays.

The Yachting Alchemist - If you know, you know 🌟

I warm introduction for Norma Trease, highlighting the impact she has made in this industry thus far 🫶
Norma Trease is a truly iconic figure in the yachtie world, whose influence and dedication have shaped the industry in countless ways. With a lifelong passion for yachting, she began her career as a charter chef and quickly evolved into an international powerhouse, traveling the globe, launching innovative businesses, and championing the value of the crew at every turn.
Norma’s creation of The Crew Network set a new standard, becoming the first yachting service business to sell and sparking a movement that brought greater recognition and value to service companies throughout the industry. Her pioneering spirit didn’t stop there though. Norma has played a key role in developing Marina Port Vell in Barcelona and helped launch many international ventures (Google her)
Her impact as a journalist has been equally profound, founding and contributing to respected industry publications such as Dockwalk, The Crew Report, and Yachting Life. But perhaps most inspiring is her advocacy for yacht crew and her commitment to associations like the International Superyacht Society and the Seakeepers Society. Norma has helped educate thousands, support ocean research and conservation, and create meaningful opportunities for professionals across the yachting ecosystem.
Above all, Norma Trease is known for her belief that yachting is “a people business” with opportunities for everyone willing to get involved, network, and contribute. She’s a role model for leveraging experience, passion, and a genuine heart for the industry to create a global impact, while reminding everyone to enjoy the journey along the way.
Thank you for your kindness and dedication to uplift this industry Norma 👏

Renowned for his visionary designs, Espen Øino shares insights on a groundbreaking project that explores how today’s nuclear technology could one day power yachts and commercial ships; safely, cleanly, and sustainably. Partnering with experts from Emerald Nuclear and Peregrine Turbines, the initiative aims to demystify nuclear energy and reshape perceptions of what’s possible at sea.

With the first proof-of-concept generator set to launch in Norway by 2030, the journey toward decarbonized yachting is already underway. ⚓️

Would you step aboard a nuclear-powered superyacht if it meant a greener future for the seas? 💭

He was once a chief officer moving cargo across oceans.
In 2022, he decided to change course and chase a new horizon, the world of superyachting.

For Captain Ben aka Bernard Frempong,
starting over meant sacrificing a position, pay, and a whole new way of life.
But with vision, humility, and the drive to learn, he rose through the ranks fast.
Sometimes chasing your dream means starting again.
It’s never too late to change direction because when you follow your vision and stay open to learning, anything is possible. 🌊
