Some days, parenting a teen feels like standing on the beach at the edge of the water, watching the tide go out. They used to cling to you… now they drift toward their own waters. It’s both beautiful and terrifying.

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻’𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿,𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲.𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆. 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲. 𝗨𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀.

Because here’s the truth: Teens might act like they don’t need your guidance, but they’re still scanning the horizon for your light - your calm in their storm, your belief when they doubt themselves, your love when they’re not sure they deserve it.

So even on the days when they roll their eyes, when the conversations are short, when you wonder if any of it is sinking in - keep showing up.

𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀;𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴.
And your steady motherly light will have a way of bringing them safely home.

When young people are grounded in love, security, and a strong sense of self,
they don’t chase approval —
𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐚 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲.

As for their goals? They follow these more naturally and goals tend to come easier . Not because they’re trying to prove something, but because they don’t have to hustle for validation, they already know who they are.

But that kind of grounded growth often needs a shift in our approach as parents.𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥, 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞.
𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬.𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐱𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠.

Teens grow into themselves when we make space for them to become who they really are — to be fully seen, accepted, and intentionally supported.
So if you're wondering where to focus:Lead with big love. Stand on unwavering values. Build up unshakable self-worth.

That’s the foundation that lasts — and it’s exactly what we nurture in our 𝙂𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙎𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 teen workshops.
Through fun and interactive sessions it’s our passion to help young people discover

📚 Strongest Story’s Worthwhile Winter Reads

𝗔 𝗩𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗱 by Francine Rivers

Joshua was just a teeny newborn

It was those slow, blurry days where as a new mommy, you’re trying to figure out feeding, sleep, your own emotions - and somehow still stay standing. Goodness knows how I found the time to read anything, but I was gifted this book - 𝗔 𝗩𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗱 - and I absolutely couldn’t put it down.

I was so intrigued that I read in every waking moment. While feeding. While rocking. Even while changing his nappy. I actually propped the book open on the side and would read paragraphs while he wriggled.

Set in ancient Rome, the story is sweeping and cinematic… but what gripped me was Hadassah - a young woman of quiet courage and unwavering faith in a world unraveling around her. Her gentleness wasn’t weakness. Her surrender wasn’t fear. Her faith was steady, quiet, resilient - and it stirred something in me I didn’t have words for at the time.

It whispered: You don’t have to be loud to be strong.
You just have to stay rooted.

25 years later , this baby boy is now a grown young man ...
and this same book is still with us!

The cover is weathered. The pages are soft and worn from all the times I’ve re-read it. And still, it holds something exceptional. Still, it speaks.

“𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗼𝗱’𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝘀. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿, 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗶𝗺.”

Some books may come and go.
But this one has stayed the test of time.

This book is for every woman who has ever wondered how to stay faithful when the world around her feels loud, lost, and deeply compromised. It’s for those who long for courage, conviction, and a reminder that quiet faith can be wildly powerful.

If you’ve never read 𝗔 𝗩𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗱, maybe this is the invitation. To meet Hadassah. To hear the Voice in the wind.
To remember what holds you steady when everything else feels uncertain.

And if you have - perhaps it’s time to read it again!

𝙎𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙮 by Bill Hybels
For the woman who’s tired of running on empty.

Life in midlife can feel like a blur - full calendars, full houses, full hearts... and yet somehow, we end up running on empty. In Simplify, Bill Hybels gently but firmly invites us to step out of the chaos and into a more intentional way of living - one that is uncluttered, peaceful, and deeply connected to what matters most.

This is not just a book about decluttering your closet or managing your time (though there are helpful tips on both). It’s about clearing out the soul clutter - the stuff that keeps us from living with focus, joy, and spiritual fullness. Hybels speaks candidly about his own journey from exhaustion to purpose, offering practical wisdom rooted in Scripture and lived experience.

For the middle-aged woman who feels stretched, distracted, or simply worn thin, Simplify is a breath of fresh air. It’s an invitation to slow down, take inventory, and ask: What do I want my one life to be about?

Each chapter is a gentle nudge to re-evaluate the pace and priorities of your life - from how you spend your mornings, to how you manage relationships, to how you protect time with God. It’s not about perfection. It’s about realignment. Gracefully. Purposefully.

If your soul is craving margin - or if your heart longs to feel less frantic and more free - 𝙎𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙮 might be the reset you didn’t know you needed.

“𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙖 𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙢𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩: 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙙𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙡𝙚𝙙.” - Bill Hybels

This quiet yet powerful line cuts to the core of what so many middle-aged women are wrestling with - the constant push to do more, be more, hold it all together. We move through our days carrying the weight of everyone’s needs - our families, our work, our community - and somewhere along the way, we lose track of who’s really steering the ship.

Hybels offers a gentle but disruptive truth here: living a simplified life doesn’t begin with rearranging our schedule - it begins with reorienting our soul. And that starts by asking a deeply spiritual question: Am I being driven by expectations, guilt, fear, and urgency? Or am I being led - by the Spirit, by wisdom, by what matters most?

Being "driven" feels like acceleration with no brakes. It’s the never-ending to-do list, the pressure to say yes to everything, the inability to sit still without guilt. But being "led" feels entirely different.
𝙄𝙩’𝙨 𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙧.
𝘾𝙖𝙡𝙢𝙚𝙧.
𝙍𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙙.
It's making decisions from a place of alignment with your values, your faith, and your God-given identity - not from panic or pressure.

For the woman in midlife who is tired of the hustle, this quote is more than advice - it’s an invitation to exhale. To choose a different rhythm. One where peace, purpose, and presence replace busyness, burnout, and burden.

𝙄𝙩 𝙖𝙨𝙠𝙨 𝙪𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙡𝙤𝙬 𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙚𝙣𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙩𝙤 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙡, 𝙨𝙢𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙫𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣 - 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨𝙣’𝙩 𝙙𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙚, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙨.

“𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙤 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡 𝙤𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙜𝙤𝙖𝙡𝙨. 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙛𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡 𝙤𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙨𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙨.”

This quote may not sound emotional at first glance, but when you sit with it, especially as a woman who has likely set dozens of goals over the years, it hits differently.

Because here’s the truth: by the time we reach midlife, we’ve set plenty of goals. Some we’ve met, others we've abandoned, and many more we’ve carried like quiet burdens, wondering why we can’t seem to “follow through.” This quote shifts the entire narrative. It’s not that we lacked motivation or discipline. It's that we didn’t have the systems in place to carry those goals forward.

James Clear gently reframes success, not as a matter of willpower, but as a matter of structure. 𝙃𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙫𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙨 𝙪𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙥 𝙗𝙡𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙣𝙤𝙩 “𝙩𝙧𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙧” 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙝𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙩𝙨, 𝙧𝙝𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙢𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙚𝙣𝙫𝙞𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙬𝙚’𝙫𝙚 𝙗𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙩 (𝙤𝙧 𝙞𝙣𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙙) 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙚𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙧 𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙪𝙨.

No matter what your age, this is freeing. It says: 𝙔𝙤𝙪’𝙧𝙚 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙗𝙧𝙤𝙠𝙚𝙣. 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙖 𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙨𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙢. Whether that means changing your morning routine, setting up better boundaries around time and energy, or building small rituals that align with your values, this book reminds us that transformation begins with the invisible things that shape our visible life.

This quote is a gentle challenge to stop white-knuckling our way to change, and start designing a life that supports the person we’re becoming.
