Sticky Chicken Wings

Recipe Ingredients
12 -15 Chicken wings

For the Marinade
80 ml Barbeque Sauce
60 ml SPAR tomato Sauce
10 ml spicy barbeque sauce
60 ml SPAR brown sugar
60 ml Spar apricot jam
10 ml Worcestershire sauce
3 ml dried chilli flakes

Recipe Method
1. Place the chicken wings in a shallow container.
2. Mix together all the marinade ingredients and pour over the chicken. Leave to marinade for at least 2 hours, or overnight if you can, turning occasionally.
3. Cook the chicken on the braai, over medium hot coals and cook for about 20 min, brushing with any marinade left in the dish as it cooks. If it's colouring too quickly, move to a cooler part of the barbecue to cook more gently. It's important you cook the chicken all the way through.
4. The chicken can also be cooked in the oven for the perfect picnic food. Preheat the oven to 200 grade Celsius. Transfer the chicken into a roasting tray with a couple of spoons of marinade. Place in the oven for about 35 min, turning occasionally and basting with the marinade and juices until thoroughly sticky and dark golden brown, adding extra marinade to the tray if necessary.

One Pot Lasagne Soup Recipe

1 tbsp oil
150g SPAR beef mince
1 pack (500g) SPAR Freshline Tomato & Lentil Soup
4 SPAR lasagne sheets
1 pack (330g) SPAR Freshline Garlic Butter Bread

Serving suggestion:
SPAR Marksbury Select Pecorino Romano
Fresh basil

METHOD
1. Preheat the oven to 200ËšC.
2. In a large Masterchef Pot, add the oil and cook the beef mince over high heat for 5 minutes or until browned.
3. Reduce the heat to medium-low and pour the SPAR Freshline Tomato & Lentil Soup into the pot along with ½ a cup of water. Break the lasagne sheets into the pot and stir through to combine.
4. Allow to simmer for 10-15 minutes or until the lasagne sheets are cooked through and soft.
5. While the lasagne soup is cooking, place the SPAR Freshline Garlic Butter Bread in the oven and allow to bake for 10-15 minutes or until the butter has melted and the bread is toasted and golden.
6. Divide the soup into 2 soup bowls and top generously with grated SPAR Marksbury Select Pecorino Romano. Garnish with fresh basil, serve with the garlic bread and ENJOY!

Chocolate Dipperspoons Recipe

Recipe Ingredients
Assorted 90 g slabs of chocolate
White margarine
Plastic disposable teaspoons

Recipe Method
You can play around with methods and flavours but here is the basic idea:

Break a 90 g slab of chocolate into its squares, and microwave in a small bowl with 5 ml white margarine, on 60% Power for 2 minutes. Stir.
Dip a plastic spoon into melted chocolate, rotate it so the underside is completely but thinly coated. Then re-dip to now fill the scooped side with chocolate, allowing any excess chocolate to drip off back into the bowl. Carefully set the spoon aside on a greased granite worktop or wax paper, to set at room temperature.
Repeat with the other spoons. Work with just one chocolate flavour at a time, to ensure the melted chocolate doesn’t harden before you finish it.

Hints & Tips
Chocolates with biscuit content are not successful for this. Rather choose the plainer milk, dark, mint crisp and white chocolate.
Conventional creamy dairy chocolate slabs are best, versus baking chocolate.

Roasted Veg and Wors Traybake Recipe

Delicious wors with an assortment of roasted vegetables drizzled with a honey mustard dressing and baked with tangy orange slices.

Recipe Ingredients
1 x (460g) packet of SPAR Tender & Tasty Bacon and Cheese Wors
2 x 600g packets of SPAR freshline Seasonal Roast Veg Pack
2 SPAR freshline oranges, cut into wedges

Dressing
3 Tbsp SPAR olive oil
1 tsp cumin
2 Tbsp SPAR Honey
1 Tbsp SPAR Mustard
Seasoning

Recipe Method
Preheat oven to 180°C
Mix all the dressing ingredients together and coat the vegetables.
Place the vegetables in a large baking dish and roast in the oven for 25 minutes.
Remove and turn the oven to 200°C.
Add orange quarters and place the sausage on top. Roast for another 10-15 minutes.
Scatter over fresh chopped parsley, squeeze over the orange wedges, and serve immediately.

Chicken thighs marinated in a sticky, sweet honey and mustard mix and then grilled to perfection. Serve with some fresh, grilled mielies and an avocado salad for a fantastic and budget-beating braai evening.

10 minutes (plus overnight marinading)

Recipe Ingredients
+- 750 g deboned, skinless chicken thighs
200 ml can ginger ale
25 ml SPAR Apricot Jam
15 ml SPAR Mustard Sauce
5 ml chicken or barbeque spice
5 ml dried parsley
15 ml SPAR Honey
Salt and pepper to taste

Recipe Method
Place the chicken thighs in a single layer in a shallow container.
In a bowl combine the remaining ingredients and pour over the chicken to completely submerge the pieces. Cover and chill overnight.
Braai over moderate coals, turning often and basting with the marinade.

Hints & Tips
No reason not to swop with chicken breast fillets, but then best to slash the meat before marinating, to encourage maximum flavour is achieved.
