Fear of the Future.
The meme says: “It is not the future that you are afraid of. It is the fear of the past repeating itself that haunts you.” – T.W.W.

How many of us stay at home and isolate ourselves because we are so disillusioned with the relationship game that we simply avoid it altogether. (Not just the romantic ones.)

This meme is absolutely true but what it does not say is of course, the most important part. Because of our past experiences, we create a protective layer around ourselves that I like to call our mask. This mask grows over the years until it it so thick that our true selves are safely buried behind this protective mask and rarely shows itself.

The outer surface of this mask masquerades as our true self and is the part of us that interacts with the world. Our true self lies inside unseen and unheard. The mask - because we have experienced so much pain and disillusionment - makes us appear hard, uncaring, stubborn, bitchy, arrogant, mean spirited, spiteful, etcetera.

This mask persona or maya, lives our life on our behalf. and as we enter new relationships this mask reacts to any new situation with the pain of a remembered past situation. We anticipate the same outcome of a past situation in a present-time event. Because of this our current relationship will often end the same way as past relationships and we can then justify our reasoning that all relationships are sh*tty.

We blame our partner, friend or family member for the breakdown of the relationship without really understanding that we bring old habitual protective and self destructive behaviour into our new relationship and we expect a different outcome. If we bring the same old tired stuff, we must expect the same old tired outcome.

I am not suggesting for a single minute that there are not circumstances from which we should simply flee. There are indeed narcissists and abusers out there. I am talking about stock standard relationships that we enter into that should be good, but are not.

The only way that we can change the outcome is to examine where the behaviour comes from - acknowledge that the experience was painful and ask ourselves how we would benefit if we no longer used our standard negative behaviour to avoid future pain with reactions from past experiences?

What would happen if we look at a new situation that presents with potential conflict and ask ourselves how we can address this conflict from a compassionate, rational and loving perspective rather than from the same tired old reactive pain place.

If we want a different outcome, we need to bring a new solution. Again - I am not talking about narcissistic and abusive situations - I'm talking about regular relationships that we want and relationships in which we could feel loved honoured and respected.

We simply can't expect loving, kind, respectful relationships if we respond with sarcasm, belittling and self destructive behaviour as our problem solving method.

Have a look at your behaviour, words and body language during the next conflict situation you face and decide if your behaviour serves what you desire or not...

We are getting busier and busier - which is such an awesome thing and we are very grateful. The Lokinwi Festival will dazzle you.

It will be a festival were you can listen to some of SA's top speakers in our genre, shop for goodies - either for yourself or your retail shop or healing centre, try out different healing modalities, participate in movement modalities like yoga or bellydancing, get great food and good coffee, connect with stallholders and meet the authors, guru's and elders of the industry - all under one roof. PSYCHICS
Initially we dod not make provision for more cost effective space for psychic readers. We have now created those and and invitation to this will only be extended to people whom have been personally recommended to us. We only have limited space.

MOVEMENT MODALITIES:
we are sill in need of people to showcase and demonstrate their movement modality like Zumba, Pilates, Yoga, martial arts etcetera... Give us a shout if you are keen - we will work out a special deal for you.

PROFESSIONALS WHO ARE HELPING
We have secured the services of top professionals in the fields of shell scheme builders and other support staff, like health and safety. We are no finalising the kit our support staff will wear on the day and the camera crews have been booked. We are still negotiating with several catering suppliers and look forward to concluding that soon. We have secured a printer for our magazine. We have secured access control and enough credit card machines - just for the festival so we can minimise queues.

MEANDERING DUCKS
Although our ducks are not in a row - we herd them together every now and then to do a head count and it seems they are pretty much in their respective places.

VOLUNTEER YOUR SERVICES
We will be needing staff to assist us on the days of the festival who can help us with ticket sales, access monitoring, security, and general mindfulness. Please give us a shout if you are keen.
