International Women's Day 2023 marks the ongoing struggle for gender equality and highlight women's achievements worldwide.
Celebrations around the world recognize the progress made in achieving gender parity while also emphasizing the work that still remains to be done.
Prominent figures of all genders, from various industries, contribute to conversations discussing ways of empowering women and advancing their rights.
This day will provide an excellent opportunity for individuals to celebrate women who have influenced their lives positively, reflect on challenges encountered in breaking down barriers to gender equity, and pledge to continue advocating for fairness, justice and equal opportunity across all spheres of life for women globally.
Additionally, this day is a catalyst for reviving calls to increase girls' participation in education; recognizing women with disabilities’ access to health care programs; and advocating against child marriages, domestic violence, trafficking of women and other social illnesses that rob half of humanity of dignity simply because they are females.
Women have made incredible strides in the business world over recent decades.
From breaking through the "glass ceiling" to creating companies and leading organizations, women are shattering norms and stepping into positions of power. However, there is still work to be done.
Despite making up nearly half of the workforce, women remain underrepresented in executive-level positions and boardrooms. They also face unique barriers such as gender discrimination and inequality in pay. Yet, many women are not only succeeding but are doing so on their own terms.
With initiatives like female-focused networking groups and mentorship programs, women are supporting one another and paving the way for future generations of female leaders.
