Recent developments in our music scene depict and imbalanced process of acculturation, where seemingly our music is assimilated into foreign sounds. While we accept that with the advent of the internet and in recent times, vibrant social media, there is bound to be a fusion of cultures at an accelerated pace, we believe any proud people will at least demand and strive for an equitable exchange in
this process. As a foresaid, this is not the case and gradually our music is assimilated into foreign influences especially dance music with very little of our indigenous music featuring in this emerging sound. We believe culture is not stagnant and continually evolves with technological advances and acculturation. Our music cannot be immune to this, however some semblance of our tradition sound has to remain. We must therefore nurture the development and evolution of this sound (as others cultures have) and then participate on equal footing in this global cultural exchange. The artists we serve, we believe represent this philosophy in that they have always sought to grow and develop this sound and have a reputation of being ahead of their times and yet have always been influenced by international sounds without losing their essence. We present to you, as you have never heard them before:
