The body of a Northern Cape woman who has been missing since April has been dug out of a shallow grave in De Aar earlier today. The 31-year-old woman was allegedly last seen in the company of her boyfriend four months ago. Two suspects have been arrested and face charges of murder and defeating the ends of justice.
"The body of a 31-year-old woman who was reported missing at the sunrise police station on Tuesday, 03 April 2025, has been recovered on Wednesday, 06 August 2025. This follows a breakthrough in the investigation and the subsequent arrest of two persons of interest. The arrests are the result of an intensive investigation conducted by a dedicated team assigned to the case, with the aim of bringing justice and closure to the bereaved family. Through meticulous investigative work, including the collection evidence, police were able to positively link the suspects to the crime. The two suspects, aged 25 and 26 respectively, have been arrested and charged with murder and defeating the ends of justice. they are expected to appear in the De Aar Magistrate's Court soon," said police spokesperson, Timothy Sam.
