South African Indigenous Games Strategic Planning Meeting – Durban, KZN
The South African Indigenous Games Interim Structure is currently in KwaZulu-Natal, Durban for a three-day Strategic Planning Meeting focused on strengthening and advancing indigenous games across the country.
KZN DSAC Head of Department, Dr. Sifunda, was also in attendance, offering words of support and formally introducing the MEC.
The session was officially addressed by the KZN Department of Sport, Arts and Culture MEC, Honourable Khawula, who delivered a keynote address emphasizing the importance of preserving and promoting indigenous sporting codes.
Representing the national department, Mr. Maake from DSAC provided valuable insights on governance, policy direction, and both national and provincial grant support frameworks.
This engagement marks a significant step toward structured growth and sustainability of indigenous games in South Africa.
