LIFE IMPRISONMENT HANDED DOWN IN MIDRAND MURDER CASE

The High Court has sentenced 30-year-old attorney Thubelihle Mpisi to life imprisonment for the murder of his girlfriend, Mahlako Rabalao.

According to the information reported, Mpisi was found guilty of murdering Rabalao and burning her body inside her Mercedes-Benz in Midrand, a crime that shocked communities across South Africa.

This sentence serves as a reminder that gender-based violence and femicide have devastating consequences and that perpetrators can be held fully accountable under the law. While no sentence can bring back a loved one, the judgment represents a step toward justice for the victim, her family, and all those affected.

GAUTENG SCHOOL PRINCIPAL SUSPENDED OVER ALLEGED JOB SELLING SCHEME

A 49-year-old female school principal in Gauteng has been placed on suspension following serious allegations involving the alleged sale of teaching posts.

According to the information released, the allegations include:
🔹 Allegedly selling permanent teaching posts for R25,000 each.
🔹 Allegedly selling up to 16 permanent posts since last year.
🔹 Charging assistant teachers R700 for six-month contract positions.
🔹 Many of those six-month contracts have since come to an end.

The Department has confirmed that an investigation is currently underway. At this stage, these remain allegations, and the outcome of the investigation will determine whether any wrongdoing is proven.

South Africa continues to face high unemployment, with thousands of qualified graduates and experienced professionals struggling to secure work. Allegations of corruption in recruitment processes, if proven true, undermine public trust, deny deserving candidates fair opportunities, and weaken confidence in the education system.
