A Zimbabwean woman, Aisha Gracious Nkomo, has reportedly been missing for about two weeks in Kempton Park, Gauteng.

According to an appeal being circulated by people close to her, Aisha is based in Pretoria and worked at a lodge in Kempton Park.

Her friends reportedly told her family that Aisha left her phone charging before leaving with three men. She has allegedly not been seen since, and efforts to establish her whereabouts have so far been unsuccessful.

Her disappearance comes at a time of heightened concern in the Kempton Park and wider Ekurhuleni area following the discovery of the bodies of several women.

Police have been investigating multiple cases, but authorities have not confirmed that Aisha's disappearance is connected to any of the deaths. SAPS has also cautioned against prematurely concluding that the cases are the work of a serial killer while investigators examine possible links.

Aisha's family and friends are appealing to anyone who may have information about her whereabouts to come forward.

PAUL MASHATILE BREAKS SILENCE ON HIS HEALTH BUT HE’S STILL NOT RETURNING TO WORK YET 🇿🇦
Deputy President Paul Mashatile has given South Africans an update on his health after weeks away from public engagements.
Mashatile says he recently underwent a minor medical procedure and that his recovery is progressing well.
However, he will not return to his full official programme just yet.
According to Mashatile, his doctors have advised him to continue resting while he regains his strength.
He said his recovery is improving and that he is “regaining strength each day.”
The Deputy President also reassured South Africans that work has not stopped in his absence. His office and delegated responsibilities continue to be handled by his team, together with other government, business and sector stakeholders.

Mashatile's absence had attracted considerable public attention because he had not been regularly seen at major public events.
His last major in-person government engagement was the Mandela Day Water Services Project in KwaZulu-Natal on 18 July 2026, where he participated in the launch of water projects for underserved communities.

His office later confirmed that he had become unwell at his home in Johannesburg, received medical attention, underwent a minor surgical procedure and observation, and was subsequently discharged. It also said he continued participating in parliamentary proceedings and other meetings virtually.

There has been speculation about the exact nature of his condition, but the Presidency has not disclosed details of the medical procedure, citing Mashatile's right to medical privacy.

🚨 MARCH AND MARCH TO TAKE TO THE STREETS FOR GBV VICTIMS AFTER EKURHULENI WOMEN’S DEATHS

March and March is turning its attention to gender-based violence and femicide, with founder Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma calling for the movement’s Thursday demonstrations to stand in solidarity with victims and their families following a disturbing series of women’s deaths in Ekurhuleni.

The call comes as police investigate the deaths of several women whose bodies have been discovered in and around Kempton Park, the R21 area and Olifantsfontein over the past two months.

One of the victims was 38-year-old Elizabeth “Tsontso” Moselakgomo, who disappeared after leaving home for an afternoon run. Her family later positively identified her body at the Germiston mortuary.

Police have since confirmed another woman’s body was discovered in KwaThema on Tuesday morning, bringing the number of women’s bodies discovered in the broader Ekurhuleni area to six in the latest developments.

The cases have raised fears among residents, particularly because investigators have identified similarities in some of the circumstances and locations.

But there is an important fact to remember:

⚠️ SAPS has NOT confirmed that all the deaths are connected, and police have not confirmed that a serial killer is responsible.

A specialised multidisciplinary task team has been deployed to investigate possible links between the cases, while forensic evidence, DNA and victim profiles are being examined.

Police have also increased patrols and resources in the affected areas, including detectives, forensic specialists, tracking teams and K9 units.

According to police, 17 women have been reported missing in Kempton Park since January, with 13 subsequently located and safely reunited with their families.

Now March and March says its Thursday demonstrations will also be used to highlight the issue of GBV, femicide and the safety of women.

The bigger question is whether these demonstrations can translate into real pressure for stronger policing, faster investigations and greater protection for women.

🚨 HOW MUCH DO SAPS OFFICERS ACTUALLY EARN IN SOUTH AFRICA? 🇿🇦👮

Ever wondered how much a South African police officer takes home?

SAPS salaries vary significantly depending on rank, experience, salary notch and allowances so there isn't one salary that applies to every police officer.

Here’s a general breakdown of reported 2026 figures:

👮 Constable: roughly R200,000–R300,000 per year, which works out to about R16,700–R25,000 per month before deductions.

⭐ Sergeant: roughly R280,000–R380,000 per year, or around R23,300–R31,700 per month.

🎖️ Warrant Officer: roughly R350,000–R500,000 per year, or approximately R29,200–R41,700 per month.

Senior commissioned officers can earn considerably more, with salaries increasing as officers move into ranks such as captain, colonel and the senior management structure. Some published 2026 estimates put senior SAPS positions well above R50,000 per month.

But there's an important detail many people miss: gross salary is not the same as take-home pay.

An officer's final monthly income can be affected by tax, pension contributions and other deductions. Certain qualifying allowances and benefits can also affect total remuneration.

Official SAPS information confirms that the organisation has a structured rank system ranging from Constable and Sergeant through Warrant Officer, Captain, Colonel and senior management ranks.

For context, the government implemented a 5.5% public-service salary adjustment from 1 April 2025 for the 2025/26 financial year.

So when you see someone claiming that “all SAPS officers earn R20,000” or “police officers earn R50,000”, remember: the reality depends heavily on the officer's rank and salary level.

🚨 DURBAN REFUGEES DIVIDED OVER MOVE TO LINDELA

More than 270 refugees and asylum seekers who have been living outside the Department of Home Affairs offices on Che Guevara Road in Durban are being relocated to the Lindela Repatriation Centre in Krugersdorp, Gauteng.

The group has been living on the streets since May, after some said they were forced from their homes and businesses amid tensions surrounding anti-illegal-immigration protests.

The relocation has, however, divided the group.

Some refugees have agreed to leave Durban, saying the conditions on the streets have become unbearable and that they fear further confrontation and violence.

Others are refusing to go to Lindela because they associate the facility with immigration detention and fear that moving there could affect their situation.

According to the latest government information, 278 people are expected to be transferred to Lindela. The relocation follows consultations between government and representatives of the affected communities.

Government reportedly presented the group with two options: return to the communities where they previously lived or relocate to Lindela. After discussions, relocation was agreed to by those who accepted the offer.

Law-enforcement officers are expected to es**rt the group during the move, while the Che Guevara Road pavement will be cleared.

Gift of the Givers has also arranged food parcels for those being relocated.

Importantly, the situation is more complicated than simply calling everyone “illegal immigrants”. Reports indicate that the group includes refugees and asylum seekers, and authorities have been verifying individual immigration statuses.

The government has also said it will continue discussions with the UNHCR about possible resettlement options in another country.

The controversy now comes down to one major question:

🇿🇼🇿🇦 CAN ZIMBABWEAN LEARNERS WRITE SOUTH AFRICAN MATRIC WITHOUT A SA ID? THE DEPARTMENT HAS CLARIFIED

Zimbabwean Grade 12 learners preparing for South Africa’s 2026 National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams do not necessarily need a South African ID document to write matric.

The Department of Basic Education says learners must have some form of identification, but it does not have to be a South African ID.

According to department spokesperson Lukhanyo Vangqa, learners who do not have identification documents can use an affidavit obtained from a police station to help verify their identity.

Teachers may also assist with confirming the identity of learners who have been attending a school for more than a year.

The clarification is particularly important for Zimbabwean Grade 12 learners who left South Africa following the immigration deadline and now need to return for their 2026 matric examinations.

But there is an important catch:

The learners cannot write the South African NSC examinations from Zimbabwe.

They must physically return to South Africa and write their examinations at an accredited examination centre.

The department says the identification requirements are primarily about making sure that the correct candidate writes the examination and preventing examination fraud not automatically excluding a learner because they do not possess a South African ID.

So, in simple terms:

✅ No South African ID does not automatically mean a Zimbabwean Grade 12 learner cannot write matric.

✅ Other identification can be accepted.

✅ An affidavit can be used where a learner has no identification document.

❌ They cannot write the South African NSC exams from Zimbabwe.

The 2026 matric examinations are now becoming a major issue for Zimbabwean learners affected by immigration changes.

🇺🇸🚨 22 STATES SUE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION OVER NEW IMMIGRATION RULE

A major legal battle is unfolding in the United States over a new Trump administration immigration policy that could make it harder for some immigrants to obtain green cards, visas or entry into the country.

New York and 21 other states, along with Washington, DC, have filed a lawsuit seeking to stop the Department of Homeland Security from implementing the rule.

The policy involves the controversial “public charge” provision of US immigration law.

Under the proposed changes, immigration officials would have broader discretion to consider whether an applicant has received or could potentially rely on government assistance when deciding certain immigration applications.

⚠️ Programs that could potentially come under consideration include:
• Medicaid
• Food assistance such as SNAP
• Housing assistance
• Other means-tested public benefits

The Trump administration's rule is set to take effect Friday, September 18, according to the report.

The states argue the policy could cause eligible immigrant families to stop using public assistance because they fear it could negatively affect their immigration status.

New York officials also argue that this could cost states billions of dollars in federal funding.

According to the lawsuit, states could collectively lose an estimated $4.05 billion annually in federal Medicaid and CHIP funding, with the plaintiff states potentially accounting for about $2.2 billion of that amount.

The lawsuit also highlights the potential impact on mixed-status families, where some members are immigrants and others are US citizens.

Importantly, the rule primarily concerns people seeking or maintaining certain legal immigration benefits. Undocumented immigrants generally aren't eligible for the public benefits at the center of this dispute.

The states are asking a federal court to block and invalidate the rule and prevent the Department of Homeland Security from enforcing it.

For now, this is a legal challenge not a court ruling that has cancelled the policy.

🚨 R300 MILLION SUSPECTED CO***NE SEIZED IN NORTH RIDING NO ARRESTS YET

Honeydew police have reportedly seized suspected co***ne with an estimated street value of R300 million during an intelligence-driven operation in Northriding, Johannesburg.

According to police, the operation took place on Saturday, 12 September 2026, at around 20:30, after officers received information about suspected illicit drug activities at a plot in the area.

Police acted on the intelligence and recovered the suspected co***ne during the operation.

Officers also seized a black Land Cruiser SUV after it was allegedly found displaying false registration numbers. Police further allege that the vehicle had an altered Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

⚠️ No arrests have been made at this stage.

The investigation is continuing as police work to establish who was behind the suspected drug operation and the circumstances surrounding the seizure.

The seizure is another major blow to the illegal drug trade, but the investigation will now be crucial in determining where the suspected co***ne came from, who was responsible for it and whether other individuals are linked to the operation.

A debate is gaining attention online over the participation of Nigerian women in British beauty pageants with questions being raised about who should be allowed to represent Great Britain on the international stage.

The discussion appears to be linked to reports surrounding Rebecca Afolabi, a Nigerian woman who has been described online as seeking a place in the Miss Universe Great Britain competition. However, it is important to separate online claims from confirmed pageant results.

The 2026 Miss Universe Great Britain competition has already taken place, with Angela Aumonier crowned the winner in Wales.
