South African Summer Trifle
Layered to perfection! 🍓✨ Follow this easy recipe to layer your trifle masterpiece for Christmas lunch.

Ingredients:
80g jelly, strawberry flavoured
500ml water, boiled
1 swiss roll
500ml whipping cream
500g strawberries

Method:
In a big bowl, dissolve the jelly crystals in hot water, slowly mixing until fully dissolved. Let the mixture set in the refrigerator overnight or for at least 3 hours.
Slice your swiss roll into small pieces. Start with layering the swiss roll pieces on top of the jelly. Lay some pieces vertically on the edges of the bowl.
In a separate bowl, use a handheld or an electric mixer to whip your cream until fluffy.
Follow up with a layer of whipped cream to fill up the bowl.
Top off your trifle with fresh strawberries.
Enjoy!

Ave sizithandela amawings as uMzansi! Whether uzishayela i-seven colours noma i-braai for Christmas lunch, you won’t go wrong with this sticky chicken wings recipe. 🤞 ❤️

Ingredients:
500g chicken wings
2 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp chilli flakes
1 tsp sweet basil
1 tbsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
2 tbsp cooking oil
butter
1 tsp honey
3 tbsp hot sauce

Method:
Preheat oven at 180c.
Combine the smoked paprika, cayenne, chilli flakes, sweet basil, baking powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
Transfer the chicken wings to a larger bowl and pour cooking oil over them. Stir in the spice mixture until thoroughly blended. Optional: Marinate for 30 minutes.
Place the chicken wings in an oven dish and bake for 20 minutes.
In a small bowl, melt butter in the microwave. Add honey and hot sauce and mix well. Pour the sauce on the chicken wings and combine.
Bake for 5 more minutes.
