Job Title: Finance Assistant (Accounts)
Location: St Andrews Drive, Durban North, 4051, KZN, South Africa
Job Type: Full Time in Office, Monday to Friday
Start Date: ASAP

Salary: ZAR15 000 – ZAR18 000 pm (experience dependant)

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and journal entries
Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
Reconcile supplier accounts and resolve any outstanding queries
Day to day book keeping activities
Reconcile customer accounts and support credit control activities
Process supplier invoices, credit notes, and staff expenses
Manage the accounts payable ledger: prepare payment runs and maintain accurate records
Manage the accounts receivable ledger: issue invoices, track receipts, and follow up on overdue accounts
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the accounting system
Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders (e.g., vendors and customers) to resolve account-related issues
Support audit processes
Assist with ad hoc finance tasks and reporting as directed by the Finance Manager
Key Skills and Qualifications:

Matric
3 Years Finance Working Experience (Accounts Assistant or finance role)
2 years Book Keeping experience is a must
Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles
Experience with management accounts and account reconciliations
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
Finance qualification advantageous
Soft Skills

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, Strong organizational and time-management skills, Ability to work independently and as part of a team, Ability to communicate effectively in English. Reliable and accountable. Ability to work in fast paced environment and be part of a dynamic team.

Job Title: Finance Administrator (Temp role with the opportunity of becoming permanent)

Job Purpose:

The Finance Administrator is responsible for providing financial and administrative support to ensure effective, accurate, and timely financial operations in compliance with South African financial regulations. The role supports the finance team in managing accounts, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Process supplier invoices, staff claims, and petty cash reimbursements.
Prepare payment batches for EFT processing via online banking platforms.
Assist with processing of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
Capture and reconcile supplier statements and follow up on outstanding items.
Prepare journals for review and posting to the general ledger.
Support monthly management reporting and assist with preparation of financial statements.
Maintain a proper filing system for all financial documents (physical and/or electronic).
Liaise with external auditors and provide necessary supporting documentation.
Perform ad-hoc duties as required by the Finance.
Work on various retail portals (corporates)
Minimum Requirements:Education:

Matric (Grade 12) with Accounting and Maths essential
National Diploma or Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (advantageous)
Experience:

1–3 years of experience in a similar finance/administrative role
Experience working with South African financial systems, tax, and statutory compliance
Familiarity with Pastel, Sage 300, Xero, or similar accounting packages
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
