SMME News SMME News is a media company that brings news for emerging businesses, aspiring entrepreneurs and al SMME News is a free bilingual newspaper.

We target formal and informal businesses in the Small, Medium and Micro-Enterprises (SMMES) sector. It is distributed monthly within Kwa-Zulu Natal. It aims to play a major role in the dissemination of information and advice, as well as serving as an open forum for the SMME stakeholders. The SMME sector creates and presents opportunities for people to participate in the growth of our economy and take responsibility for their own financial well-being.

We are still accepting applications for the 2025 Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme—an opportunity that has transformed the lives of over 2 million Africans—on www.TEFConnect.com.

THE TONY ELUMELU FOUNDATION (TEF) ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAMME

Our flagship Entrepreneurship Programme is open to all African entrepreneurs, 18 years and older, who have innovative ideas or businesses (not older than five years), in any business sector.

TEF ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAMME FOR GOOGLE

Deployed in partnership with Google.org to empower African entrepreneurs with AI-integrated business training, in addition to mentoring and seed capital, to shift their perception towards embracing and adopting AI tools in their business operations.

WOMEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP FOR AFRICA (WE4A)

Deployed in partnership with the European Union (EU) and Deutsche Gesellschaft fĂĽr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), this programme will empower women entrepreneurs with green business ideas or businesses in Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, Cameroon, Kenya, Mozambique, Malawi, and Togo.

AGUKA IDEATION PROGRAMME

Deployed in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Rwanda and the Rwandan Ministry of Youth and Arts, this programme supports young Rwandan entrepreneurs (18–30 years) with $3,000 in seed capital to transform their innovative ideas into viable enterprises.
