Residents on Felix Dlamini road and Morningside woke up today to their taps running dry due to a pipe that had burst.
The pipe had burst on Felix Dlamini road during the early hours of the morning leading to a huge loss of water before the repair crew were dispatches. Residents say that multiple calls were made and complaints lodged before a repair crew were dispatched to sort out the burst pipe.
Unfortunately, by the time the crew had arrived it was already late morning and many residents had already left for the day. A huge amount of water had already covered the roads leading to people driving through a flooded road.
In the video below you can see the construction crew already at work tying to dig up and repair the pipe as well as residents who had little to no water at their house. The consequence of leaving such a large amount of water to flow can already be seen as small cracks have developed on the road which will eventually lead to potholes being formed as Felix Dlamini is a main road that is being constantly used.
As of this time, the problem has not been solved and residents in the the surrounding areas still face water shortages.
