Description
Oxford Freshmarket is looking to recruit a skilled and experienced Senior Blockman. This person will be responsible for the cutting, trimming and preparation of consumer sized portions of meat for retail in our store.
Salary : R10 000 per month (Dep on experience)
REQUIREMENTS:
· 8 – 10 year’s experience
· Ensure the butchery team exercise hygiene control and maintain excellent housekeeping protocols in compliance with health departments.
· Prepare special cuts of meat ordered by customers.
· Cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind meats, such as beef, pork and lamb.
· Prepare and place meat cuts and products in display counter, so they will appear attractive and catch the shopper's eye.
· Wrap, weigh, label, and price cuts of meat.
Offload trucks when receiving orders
COMPETENCIES:
· Can work under pressure and meet deadlines
· Good communication skills.
· Knowledge of meat preparation techniques and cuts
· Ability to use hand tools
· Ability to lift heavy items and work in cold environments
