Orchid MusiQ has released her debut solo single, "Hambe," out now on all major streaming platforms via Believe.

The record marks the first solo release from an artist whose voice already runs through much of the contemporary amapiano landscape. Over the past two years, Orchid MusiQ has secured more than six placements across major amapiano albums and worked with some of the genre's most respected names, including Sam Deep, Da Muziqal Chef and Benny Maverick. She has also featured alongside Nasty C.

Her recent work reaches well beyond guest features. Orchid MusiQ is one of the artists on the University of Cotton Fest "Class of 2026" Mixtape, the collaborative project produced by multi-platinum producer MashBeatz, continuing Riky Rick's legacy of spotlighting the country's most promising new voices. She is also among the voices behind the music for eGagasini: Waves of Change, e.tv's prime-time youth music telenovela produced by Stained Glass TV. Together, they show a range that moves comfortably between the club, the studio and the screen.

"Hambe" is spiritual, guitar-led dance music, an immersive, hook-driven record that sits in the same lane as the genre's most enduring work. After years as a sought-after collaborator and featured vocalist, it represents Orchid MusiQ's arrival as an artist in her own right.

"Hambe" is available now on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and all other major platforms.

🇿🇦 FROM KWAMASHU TO HARVARD! 🎓🌍

Wandile Mthiyane (Wandile Mthiyane) is proving that where you come from does not have to determine where you end up.

The 32-year-old architect and social entrepreneur from KwaMashu, Durban, has officially begun his journey at Harvard University in the United States, where he is pursuing a two-year Master’s in Design Engineering.

But getting there was anything but easy.

Earlier this year, Wandile walked an incredible 1,600km from Durban to Cape Town to raise funds towards his studies, turning his personal dream into a grassroots movement supported by ordinary South Africans.

People contributed in different ways — from money and food to accommodation, equipment and simply sharing his story.
Now at Harvard, Wandile says his bigger dream goes beyond earning a prestigious qualification. Having grown up in KwaMashu and witnessed challenges around housing and inequality, he wants to use design, engineering and technology to develop practical solutions for communities back home.

One of his areas of interest is using machine learning to help design more flood-resistant and affordable homes in informal settlements, rural areas, tribal communities and townships.

From the streets of KwaMashu to one of the world's most prestigious universities — this is more than a personal achievement.

It’s a Durban story. It’s a South African story. And it’s a reminder of what can happen when a dream is backed by determination and community. 🇿🇦❤️

Congratulations, Wandile Mthiyane. The journey continues. 👏🏾
