When I was young, I thought I'd be super successful by now because I thought the playing field was even. I didn't know that you can work harder and smarter than someone and not achieve as much success as them because you were just born in the wrong place at the wrong time.

No one knows the monsters in your head. No one knows how much energy you require just to wake up and operate like a normal human when the anxiety and depression wants you to lay in bed all day or just give up on life as a whole. It's easy to think nobody cares about you, but that's often not true, what's always true is that they don't know what you're going through. The ones that know don't understand. You're the only one who really gets it, therefore you're the only one who owes you respect for how strong you've been. You owe yourself a pat on the shoulder, a salute, a beer, a nice meal, a hug, complements, etc. because you're know you're not supposed to still be standing, but here you are, taking it one step at a time. You're badass. You're a superhero. You're a goat. Say it to yourself.
