St Mary’s bids bold farewell to grade 7s

St Mary’s Primary School recently bid a colourful farewell to its Grade 7 learners, celebrating their journey through primary school and their exciting leap into high school. The event, held in the school hall, brought together pupils, teachers, and parents for an afternoon filled with laughter, music, and cherished memories.

Acting Principal Ramesh Singh led the send-off with a joke, “We watched you walk into school years ago with oversized bags and tiny shoes, and today you walk out taller, louder, and far too confident for your own good.” Class teachers Ms N. Moonsamy, Ms B. Sigamoney, and Ms Y. Rampersadh reminded pupils to carry themselves with pride and to “take St Mary’s with you wherever you go next and make us proud.”

The farewell programme celebrated the pupils’ achievements, recalling sports days, school events, and everyday moments that shaped their St Mary’s experience. Teachers also honoured staff who supported and guided the Grade 7s along the way.

Parents praised the school’s warm and nurturing environment, noting that the farewell perfectly reflected St Mary’s commitment to developing confident, grounded young leaders.
