Rivash Soni Davnarayan posed a wildlife question this morning on wildlife quiz!

Which ultra massive, worlds heaviest non-venomous South American constrictor, spends most of its time in swamps and rivers and females of that species give birth to live young instead of laying eggs. Which creature is it?

Answer: Anaconda!

Quick Facts:
1. Did you know that Up to 12 males wrap around one female for weeks to compete for mating.
2. Female anacondas are Cannibalistic: Large female anacondas sometimes eat smaller male partners after mating just for extra nutrition.
3. Anacondas have extremely Stretchy jaws: Their jaw bones are connected by flexible ligaments, letting them swallow even a deer whole.
4. Their green skin has black spots that mimic shadows, making them nearly invisible in water.
5. Truly exceptional female anacondas can span up to 6 to 9 metres and weigh up to 227 to 250 kilograms.
6. But don’t worry because there are no formally verified scientific records of an anaconda killing and eating a human. While pop culture and movies often portray them as man-eaters, humans are not part of their natural diet.
7. Anacondas can technically be kept as pets, but they are among the most difficult, dangerous, and demanding reptiles to care for. They are exclusively recommended for highly experienced, expert-level reptile handlers. And Because of their extreme size and strength, they pose severe safety risks, and keeping them involves intense structural, financial, and legal commitments.
