Last Sunday at Shofar, we were powerfully reminded that bitterness is a boomerang 🪃 it never stays with the offender, it always comes back to hurt the one holding onto it. 💔

Pierre van Reenen, a Shofar member and soon-to-be pastor 🎤 to New Zealand, shared a timely word on how unforgiveness multiplies our misery, while mercy and love bring freedom. 🤍 Jesus forgave us of a far greater debt, and as His followers, we are called to release others from the debts they owe us! ⛓️‍💥

Bitterness never stops with the person who hurt you — it always comes back to the one holding it. 🪃

💭 Unforgiveness affects our thoughts.
🗣️ It spills into our words.
❤️ And it damages our relationships.

Jesus gives us a practical way forward to remember the mercy you’ve received ✝️, pray for those who hurt you 🙏 , and choose to cancel the debt instead of collecting it. Forgiveness doesn’t excuse the offence, but it releases you from the prison of bitterness.

🔓 Freedom begins when mercy replaces resentment.
🌿 Sow mercy to reap peace.

On the 16th of November, Shofar celebrated a beautiful baptism service where we had the privilege of baptizing many believers new to the Church! 🙌💦

It truly felt like an epic pool party, filled with joy as each person was celebrated by the congregation and prayed for personally. 🥳🙏

Courage will always cost something, but it doesn’t always cost a lot. 💡 Sometimes it’s simply taking the next step God is calling you to take. 👣🔥

"Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go." Joshua 1:7 NKJV

When we face intimidating challenges, we can stand firm knowing Jesus is with us. With Him, we don’t need to fear, but we can walk forward in strength and courage. 💪🤍
