On the 4th of August 1991, one of the most successful maritime rescues took place. The Oceanos set sail from East London to Durban. Leaving port in stormy conditions which deteriorated as the ship travelled up the notorious Wild Coast, leading to the demise of the Oceanos of the Wild Coast.
