The prescription (script)
Patients have an interesting relationship with this document. Primarily, the prescription is a “letter” that the doctor (prescriber) sends to the pharmacist. It’s written in a language that the pharmacist understands, NOT a language the patient understands.
The pharmacist then issues medicine according to the instructions on the prescription. The medicines have directions/ instructions that the patient will understand. The pharmacist is the bridge.
For reasons unknown to most, the patient ignores and places zero value to the instructions the pharmacist gives and wants to
- read the box (don’t cover the English side)
- keep the prescription, a paper they can’t make sense of.
Patient: can I have my script back
Me: No‼️ 🤣🤣
It’s not your damn script, it’s mine.
