Such a Smoothie..
If you have a blender thats collecting dust, then perhaps its time to haul it out and get those creative juices flowing. Smoothies are packed with vitamins, are easy to digest and can be made extra scrumptious through your creative combinations.
Here is how you go about designing your smoothie. First choose your liquid base, you can use almond milk, coconut water, kefir, water, ice tea or cold tea and even cold coffee. Next decide what fruit and vegetables you would like to use, it may be a case of just grabbing what you have available to make a great combination. You can also use frozen fruit and vegetables if you tend not to keep a lot of fresh handy. Remember the ones that might not be front of mind to use such as cucumber, celery and carrots. Time to add a healthy fat if you would like, almond butter, coconut oil, flaxseed oil and even avocados and nuts can be used. To thicken up your smoothie, try adding one of the following, yoghurt, flaxseed, chia, oats or protein powder. At this stage your smoothie is already tasting great but you can still add a dash of lemon, lime, ginger, mint, cinnamon or honey for that extra zing.
We are sure you can come up with some great variations, here are a few tried and tested ones to get you started. 1. Kale, Lemon, Pear, Cucumber 2.Oats, Yoghurt, Banana, Milk. 3.Honey, Banana, Raw Cocoa, Almond Milk. 4. Mango, Oats, Milk, Honey. 5. Yoghurt, Pineapple, Mango, Banana.
The only limitation in smoothie design is your imagination.
