SKHULUMUSICGROUP AND STAKEHOLDERS GRATEFUL FOR PAST OPENMICEXPERIENCE

31 May 2026 | Ermelo, South Africa

The SMGroup Co, Inkosi Transports and Inkosi AP would love to express how grateful we are with the support received from creatives all around Gert Sibande and other nearby districts and the public on the proceedings of the past annual competition which was hosted on the 30th of May in Ermelo.

As per usual, the Open Mic continues it's main objective of celebrating local talents from all around the country. Yesterday marked another historic page of the Skhulu Music Group OPEN MIC EXPERIENCE book as we continued to record a fast growing number of participants since its inception in 2021. Fun was had, and local greatness, local dominance was awarded.

We would like to thank the public for coming in numbers to support this prestigious event as we had a non violent event, no fight no altercations just good vibes and to everyone working hard to develop talent in our hoods we want to salute you.
We would like to thank Parents and Guardians for allowing us a chance with the special kids who came to bless us with their talents at the 1948.

SKHULUMUSICGROUP MOURNS THE PASSING OF NHLAKANIPHO "NTWANA YE BHOZA" THWALA

The SMG mourns the passing of our own, the beloved Nhlakanipho "Ntwana Ye Bhoza" Jet Thwala also popularly known as MaseVen who sadly passes on in the early hours of 25 April 2026

Ntwana joined the team at a young age and has been a key part in almost departments of the SMGroup Co. He served as both an artist and a fitter till his passing. He will be remembered for his hardwork in the aluminum division of the group and his laughs will always echo inside the SkhuluMusicGroup studios.

Due to his passing, The SMG Co, INKOSI Transports and all stakeholders have decided to reschedule the ANNUAL OPEN MIC EXPERIENCE which was set to take place on Saturday 02 May in Wesselton. A new date will be announced post funeral.

During these telling times, we would like to alert the public that all SMG Co. divisions/companies will be closed until the burial of our brothers except for the services of INKOSI TRANSPORTS.

The family is kindly asking asking for privacy during this grieving period and we are grateful for your support and words of comfort.
