South African DJ Industry has weaponized Music. I see DJs who have access to Events, Clubs and Joint Owners/Managers use that access to fight their Kwaals with fellow DJs....
It always breaks my heart to see dope DJs being sidelined from bookings and lucrative gigs just because they dont belong to a certain Clan of DJs.
Most are giving up on their passion and dreams just because of a monopoly of "Book me, I will book you".
What was suppose to unite and yield a fair platform for DJs and Producers has now became "Stokvel sa Dingwetsi".
What happened to booking a DJ purely based on merit not on association or affiliation?
