MOULDING THE FUTURE WITH CARE

Mrs Stacey Muthusamy
English Teacher

Mrs Stacey Muthusamy continues to inspire and shape young minds with her passion for teaching and her genuine love for her learners. Her journey in education began in 2015 at Gingindlovu Primary School, where she discovered the joy of connecting with children and helping them grow. A year later, in 2016, she joined KwaZibonele Primary School, where she continues to make a difference as an English teacher for Grades 6 and 7.

For Mrs Muthusamy, teaching is far more than just a profession it’s a calling. “I love that every child is different,” she says warmly. “As a teacher, you get the opportunity to know each learner and build strong relationships with them. They see you not only as a teacher but as someone they can trust and who genuinely cares for them.”

Her greatest reward comes from witnessing her learners grow both in knowledge and confidence. “It’s the best feeling when a child grasps a concept and starts to develop a love for the subject. That’s when you realise you’re truly making a difference in a little human’s life.”

Over the years, Mrs Muthusamy has collected many proud moments as an educator, but what touches her heart most is seeing her former learners succeed. “I often get visits from them, sharing their achievements and the career paths they’ve chosen. Recently, a young man I taught years ago came to see me. He’s now a third-year Audiology student and told me how much he appreciated the kindness and encouragement he received in my class.”

For Mrs Muthusamy, these moments are priceless the true reflection of a teacher’s lasting impact. “As a teacher” she says with a smile, “your greatest reward will always be seeing the product you helped mould and shape.”

We’d love to hear from you, who should we feature next week? Let us know in the comments or send us a message

eShowe - My Home

Nobody can confirm how the name “eShowe” came about. Legend has it that it comes from the sound the wind makes when hising through the tall grass of this towm on the hill. Some say the name comes from the zulu word for mushrooms which is “ikhowe”, no one knows. But what others should know is that eshowe is rich with Zulu historical footprint. From Fort Nongqayi, to KwaBulawayo, to the grave of Queen Nandi, the mother of Zulu’s great King Shaka. More than this, everyone should know that, no matter where I am, Eshowe remains my refuge, my go-to place in happiness and sadness, eShowe is my home.
