I hope now you understand
South Africa πΏπ¦ is not in the G20 because of economic size alone.
The G20 is not just a club of the twenty biggest economies. It is a political and strategic grouping that brings together major advanced economies, major emerging economies, and key regional powers.
South Africa πΏπ¦ is included for three main reasons:
1. South Africa is the most industrialised and diversified economy on the African continent. It is consistently one of the largest economies in Africa and plays a central role in African trade, industry, and finance.
2. South Africa πΏπ¦ represents Africa π. The G20 wanted African representation in global economic decisions because the continent is a growing market with strategic importance. If the G20 was only about GDP rankings, then entire continents would be excluded and decisions would be biased.
3. South Africa πΏπ¦ is a key diplomatic player. SA is active in global platforms, peacekeeping, climate negotiations, BRICS, and African regional bodies. The G20 values geopolitical balance, not only industrial output.
So the G20 is not a rigid top twenty list. It is a mix of economic influence, regional leadership, global importance, and strategic value. South Africa πΏπ¦ is there because it matters politically, regionally, and economically, not because of a simple GDP ranking.
Do we understand now..?π€π―
