Dear Youth,

This Youth Month, remember this: your voice matters, and your story is powerful.

Film is more than just entertainment, it is a mirror, a memory, a movement. It is how we tell the world who we are, where we come from, and where we are going. Every frame has the power to break silence, to heal wounds, and to reimagine futures.

You don’t need a big budget or a fancy camera to begin, just a story, a perspective, and the courage to tell it. Whether you are from a village or a city, your experience is valid. Whether you dream of being behind the camera or in front of it, there is space for you. Whether your story is painful, beautiful, complicated, or raw, it belongs on screen.

So this June, let us honour the youth who came before us by creating, documenting, and reshaping narratives. Let’s be bold enough to say: “This is who we are and we are not waiting for permission to be seen.”
Keep dreaming. Keep writing. Keep filming. The future of cinema lives in your voice, your lens, and your truth.
