We recently partnered with Momentum as they accelerated their journey to become a leader in AI capability building across the organisation. As part of this drive, we created two motion‑graphic videos for their AI Foundations Training programme, designed to make complex AI concepts feel clear, practical, and accessible for every employee. By grounding the content in strong learning design and bringing the ideas to life visually, we helped Momentum empower their people with the confidence and understanding needed to thrive in an AI‑enabled future.

At Storyground, creating impactful content for training and education sits at the heart of our mission. For this project, we worked within a clean, contemporary, and dynamic visual aesthetic that supports focus and clarity. For many of our learning design clients, motion graphics offer a powerful foundation, with the potential to layer in interactivity and gamification as programmes evolve.

A big thank you to Momentum and team for the collaboration on this project!

One of the things we love about Rive is how it brings motion and interaction together in one seamless experience (bit.ly/4lFtwJG). Next up: meet our animator, Mieka Hope.

Let me introduce myself, my name is Mieka. Sometimes I go by Mieka Hope. This word is one that has followed me around since I can first remember creating. It has determined what has driven me as a creative and what my work is rooted in.

Creating has always been an escape for me, a way to imagine the world not as it is, but as it could be. I want the work I share to allow people the same sense of peace, to know there is hope in the future.

As a storyteller, I have found animation to be a strong tool that drives focused change and creates content that both captivates and moves people. I hope my work and actions as a creative continue to remind the world the future is bright if we make it so.

Rive gives us a way to make design feel more alive, responsive, and engaging (bit.ly/4rTiP8c). Next up: meet our creative director, Jamie Ferreira.

Hi! I'm Jamie :)

I have loved art and animation for as long as I can remember. I have always been at my happiest when I'm creating. There's something incredibly special about how the art of storytelling engages people, sparks emotion and shifts the way we see things.

I believe our child-like sense of wonder is something worth protecting and growing, even as we age. This wonder and imagination can be an incredible tool to create for good.

One of the biggest lessons I've learnt in my career so far is to listen to my heart. Following that quiet pull toward the things that excite us the most is what allows us to create the most meaningful work.

I hope to create stories that inspire, spark curiosity, create change, nurture that child-like sense of wonder, and remind people that just a little bit of imagination can hold a lot of power to change how we see the world.

We’re making a little interactive magic with Rive (bit.ly/3P2xCzB). First up: meet our founder and creative director, Stephan Fourie.

“I’m Stephan. I live and work in Cape Town, and I grew up in Stellenbosch, where I learned to appreciate wine and make art.

I’ve always loved the idea that we are all created to be creative, and that creativity and storytelling are some of the most powerful ways we can drive change and make an impact. It’s from this core belief that I founded, and am continuing to grow, Storyground.

One of my biggest learnings over the last two years has been how to be a creative company owner, how to own that title, and how to shape a company with the same care, curiosity, and imagination I’d bring to a storyboard or animation.

As Storyground enters a new chapter, I’m thinking more deeply about the stories we want to tell, the work we want to make, and the kind of company we want to become. More human-centred. More grounded. More mindful of the world around us and the kind of future we want to help shape.

It’s still a work in progress, and I’m learning through the ups and downs of our industry.

One day, I’d love to know that I used my talents to make the world a little better, and that I gave back through my art and through the artwork that is Storyground.”

ICLEI Africa presented us with an exciting challenge: to create a vibrant and fresh motion graphics and video style that reflects an "African" essence while staying true to their brand.

In response, we designed patterns, cut out photos, painted textures, incorporated videos, and made it all move. We aimed to bring humanity, energy, and engagement to the story.

At Storyground, collaborative storytelling is a powerful tool for impact and change, and this project gave us the space to explore this mission in really cool ways.

Introducing our roots. The four impact sectors we focus on.

Three of these roots, Climate Action, Healthcare, and Education, have shaped our work over the past six years, alongside partners like ICLEI Africa, the Canadian Mental Health Association, Interior Health , and CANSA The Cancer Association of South Africa .

In 2025, we added a fourth root: Learning Design, working with Momentum on internal training content, introducing a new focus on interaction, storytelling, and play to create more engaging learning experiences.

We’re excited to watch these roots grow in 2026.

A new chapter and new tools in our creative toolbox. Introducing our first Rive animation.

Interaction, gameification, play, and engagement are just a few of the words that popped up as we learned to use this amazing new platform.

Introducing Our Next Chapter: Human-Centred, Nature-First. Motion, Design & Storytelling for a Better World.

It's from this point of view that we dig deep, listen with empathy, create with curiosity, and communicate the real human connection behind the stories we tell. For us, human-centred nature-first storytelling means crafting authenticity on screen while preserving the environment for future generations.

For more than five years, we've been telling stories with clients and brands who drive social impact and change, and in 2026, we're refining our story to align more clearly with this mission.

Counting everyone, everywhere // For humanity to progress, we must count and include everyone, in all their diversity. That's the United Nations Population Fund's () message on .

Reliable, representative data are crucial drivers in advancing maternal health, gender equality, and access to reproductive care. But there are still significant gaps, as many communities remain uncounted and unaccounted for.

A staggering 800 women die every day while giving birth, the majority of them in developing countries. Almost every one of those deaths is preventable — if we act in advance, using accurate data.

Are you or your organisation working towards better data collection, improved maternal health, gender equality, or access to reproductive services? We'd love to learn more about your work and the stories you'd like to tell. Book a free storyfinding call: https://calendly.com/stephan-storyground/45-min-meet-up
