The finals of the Classical Instrumental and Classical Vocal sections are on 29 July at 6.30 pm. The finals of the Jazz and African Music sections are on 1 August at 6.30 pm at the Baxter Theatre
The FMR Bursary Trust Music Awards are made possible due to the generous support of the Rolf-Stephan Nussbaum Foundation along with the South African College of Music and the Cape Town Concert Series.

PICTURES FROM FINLAND: OULU SINFONIA CONDUCTED BY RUMON GAMBA FROM CHANDOS RECORDS.
Following their successful album Overtures from Finland , released in 2023, Rumon Gamba and the Oulu Sinfonia present another programme of works from their native land. Taken as a whole, the album presents its own fascinating picture of Finnish orchestral music.

Cape Town City Ballet’s production of Tchaikovsky’s famous ballet "Swan Lake" opens at the Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) this week. Dancing the role of Odette is the South African ballerina Kirstel Paterson who has enjoyed a hugely successful career and has won numerous prestigious awards. "The Mikado – In Concert" is a feast for lovers of music, opera and classic comedy – and a sparkling celebration of the 140th anniversary of Gilbert & Sullivan’s most iconic comic opera. Directed by Kyla Thorburn, with Alastair Cockburn as Musical Director, Barend van der Westhuizen as Chorusmaster, and featuring the Town Philharmonic Orchestra performing live on stage, this Proms-style production promises to dazzle. Adding to the spectacular visuals, leading ladies will be dressed by top designer Stephen van Eeden.
