As a team we have been working together for 8 years but have over 35 years combined experience in the film/creative industry. David started off working for Ogilvy as a junior art director before becoming a freelance editor. In 1994 he formed his own CC Company called the Apple Corps before forming a partnership with Roger Orpen in 1996 to become the head of the post production department for the Cutting Edge. David is now the majority shareholder for Popcorn Post Production and his invaluable experience, dedication to his work and always calm nature under extreme pressure makes him a most valuable asset to any post production job. Peter started of in the industry as a photographic retouch artist for FCB Johannesburg before moving down to FCB’s Cape Town branch. He then moved on to edit and design graphics for Hirt & Carter before moving on to The Cutting Edge in 2003. Peters knowledge of both sides of the industry has given him the upper hand into what is required to produce the best finished product. His attention to detail and willingness to always craft what he creates as well as the speed in which he does it makes the final online process smooth sailing from start to finish. Richard started off in the film industry working as a barman/runner for the Video Lab in early 2000. Working his way up the ladder he worked as an assistant in Telecine, CAR and as an AVID offline assistant as well as being the driver, coffee maker, client liason, you name it, he did it. In August 2001 an opportunity opened up for him as a VT operator at the Cutting Edge which he took and he dedicated his free time and weekends to teach himself how to edit and eventually started to do small jobs from weddings to castings etc before eventually moving onto commercials. Now specializing in documentaries and working on exciting jobs such as the Cape Town International Jazz Festival and Sports Illustrated Swimwear, Richard will always go the extra mile to make sure that the client is always 110% satisfied. We offer highly competitive rates and are always willing to accommodate you as best as possible.

GVK-SIYA ZAMA is one of our favourite clients! What we loved about the Soshanguve Mall project is that the building as a whole reminded us of an intergalactic space ship and the food court/play area even has a dedicated space theme to it. So that was part of the inspiration as far as the direction of the edit was concerned and we are extremely happy with the end result despite the many challenges we had on the days of shooting. Thank you as always to Paul Michael Charles for capturing some amazing creative angles of the building. Part of the challenge was to film and work around a very busy construction site but still make the mall look empty and pretty much finished. I think we managed to achieve that. The drone shots we done by Richard Flare Hughes on the DJI Mavic Air 3S and thankfully the weather played nice allowing him to capture everything he needed.
The mall officially opened it's doors on the 21st of November.
Thank you GVK-SIYA ZAMA for always trusting us with the work. Can't wait for the next project.
