🚨 BREAKING NEWS | FORMER KNYSNA MAYOR AUBREY TSENGWA SHOT AND KILLED

Former Knysna Mayor and local political leader Aubrey Tsengwa has been shot and killed in Concordia, Knysna.

Police say Tsengwa was travelling home with three other people on Wednesday night when an unknown suspect approached their vehicle and opened fire before fleeing the scene.

Tsengwa was fatally wounded and declared dead at the scene. Three other people were also wounded and taken for medical treatment.

Police have opened murder and attempted-murder cases. The motive for the shooting is not yet known, and no arrests have been made.

Tsengwa’s death has sent shockwaves through the Knysna community, with the municipality mourning his passing and remembering his contribution to the community.

⚠️ Tragedy in Knysna ⚠️

Former mayor and Ward 8 councillor Aubrey Tsengwa was shot and killed last night in Concordia. Police confirmed murder and attempted murder cases are under investigation after Tsengwa and three others were attacked by an unknown gunman.

Tsengwa was declared dead at the scene, while the other victims are receiving medical treatment.

The ANC’s Victor Molosi Region says it is “shocked and angered” by his passing and has called for a swift investigation and arrest of those responsible.

This devastating loss has shaken the Knysna community.
