The Rise Up Movement [Coming To Jozi] is a documentary-film production which focuses on multi-disciplined artists/creatives from Durban in South Africa who have made the ultimate decision to leave their places of origin to pursue their talents and art in Johannesburg. Often perceived as Africa’s Arts, culture and entertainment hub; Jozi [Johannesburg] as it’s famously known to most people is a p

lace where dreams come true. The film will follow very closely the journeys of four dynamic creatives, as they navigate the streets of Johannesburg in pursuit of their dreams. Their worlds are interlinked as they come from similar backgrounds and have crossed paths before coming to Jozi. The film sees these four determined creatives navigating their way in the wild and unforgiving streets of Jozi. They meet to collaborate on a few activations, events and projects which they intend to launch themselves into the glitz and glam of Jozi. They encounter challenges, share their experiences and meet other artists with similar experiences. It explores themes of spirituality, depression, talent, alcohol and drug addiction, chasing one's aspirations and dreams, to name but a few.

BLC Entertainment, in partnership with the MICT SETA is offering a 12-month NQF Level 5 Learnership Programme for unemployed youth passionate about the television and film industry.

This fully accredited programme will equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to be industry ready.

A monthly stipend of R2,500 will be provided for successful learners for the duration of the programme.

The SAMPRA Development Fund has internship opportunities for two (2) graduates who want to develop their skills and gain experience in the South African music industry. The successful interns will be placed at KwaZulu-Natal United Music Industry Association (KUMISA) headquarters office in Durban (eThekwini Metro) and Satellite office in Jozini (Umkhanyakude District). These interns must have completed a qualification in Music or Public Relations or related fields with an accredited institution.

The Durban FilmMart Institute (DFMI) has opened the call for the fourth edition of DFM ACCESS. Selected participants will have to commit to attending online sessions.

🎥 The programme is open to emerging South African filmmakers with an active feature length or episodic fiction, documentary, and animation projects in development. 
🚫 The producer must not have participated in an international  pitching programme or market before. 
🚫 The producer must not have produced a complete film or series before.
