📢 ANNOUNCEMENT: R4Z0 PRESENTS MOGWANZI 🔥
R4Z0 is proud to announce the drop of our first official EP, titled “013 (Ofo e Txiba ka Pata)”, going live September 5th. But this project is more than just music — it’s the birth of a culture.
What is Mogwanzi?
The word Mogwanzi has been around in South African dialects for years, but was rarely used or given its true power. When Magigwana first heard it as a child, it already felt like a word made for rhythm, energy, and sound. Today, we’ve given it new life and new meaning.
Mogwanzi is not just a genre — it’s a movement.
It’s a fresh hip hop subculture born in Bushbuckridge, carrying its own style of slang (Taal), dressing, and attitude.
It introduces unique lingo such as Gutsu, Sepulanary, and more, straight from the creative core of R4Z0.
It’s rooted in the everyday life of our people while connecting with the wider energy of South African hip hop.
Our Roots 🌍
R4Z0 was formed in Violet Bank, an area already known for historic hip hop movements like VT Toppers, who made a huge impact in Bushbuckridge’s music scene. We carry that flame forward.
The name R4Z0 comes from the R40 route that runs through Bushbuckridge. Our intro line explains it best:
👉 “R4Z0 Ofo e Txiba ka Pata” — meaning, Bushbuckridge can be felt and experienced just by driving along the R40. The life, the people, the energy, all visible to the eye.
Why Mogwanzi Matters ⚡
For too long, hip hop in Bushbuckridge lacked originality — it wasn’t rooted in the soul of the place. Mogwanzi is that turning point. It’s about:
Representing Bushbuckridge with authenticity.
Unifying tribes of the 013 — Mapulana, Tsonga, and Swazi — who share deep histories in this land, but have never had a cultural bridge in modern music.
Giving the youth a new identity and sound to carry with pride.
The EP: 013 (Ofo e Txiba ka Pata) 🎶
This debut EP is the first official project under the Mogwanzi banner. It’s raw, it’s local, it’s ours. Expect the blend of Sepulane (Sepulanary) and Xitsonga, languages that have exchanged words for centuries — now fused into a new wave of expression.
This is only the beginning. R4Z0 is a growing family — less than 5 core members today, but an extended movement that is rising strong.
