This past weekend, a vibrant group of young people, mostly made up of Rhodes Music Radio (RMR) staff came together to paint three classrooms at an abandoned school that is being revamped to become an ECD centre and art school, that will be known as The Amai Academy. It wasn’t just about fresh coats of paint, but about the power of community and what it means to truly be umntu phakathi kwabantu—a person among the people.

This spirit of service is not new to RMR. Just recently, RMR partnered with Rhodes Sports for a Mandela day fun run. RMR made a heartfelt donation to Home of Joy, proving again that change is real, powerful, and here to stay.
