We are currently experiencing a burst pipe in Soekmekaar Street, Macassar. I have made contact with our teams, and they are currently on-site attending to the issue.

To carry out the necessary repairs, the water supply to Soekmekaar Street and surrounding areas will need to be temporarily shut off. Our teams are working as quickly as possible and will do their utmost to restore the water supply as soon as possible.

We are currently experiencing a burst pipe on Tortelduif Street in Macassar. Our teams have responded and had to cut the water supply to prevent further water loss. As a result, Tortelduif Street, Hoepoe Street, Piet My Vrou Street, and the surrounding areas will be without water until the pipe has been repaired.

Our teams are making preparations to begin the repair later this morning and aim to complete it as soon as possible - hopefully before this evening, provided no additional issues arise.

I have informed our teams about the burst pipe at the City of Cape Town Rental Units (E Flats). They are currently attending to burst pipes that were reported prior to this incident and are, therefore, unable to respond immediately. However, arrangements are being made to address this issue as soon as possible, with the aim of attending to it before this evening. The team hopes to have the problem resolved later tonight or during the early hours of the morning, provided no further complications arise.

Please note that in order to carry out the necessary repairs, the water supply to households and streets in and around the affected area will need to be temporarily shut off. We kindly ask all residents to make the necessary preparations.

If your water supply is still active, we kindly ask that you:

1. Store enough clean, sealed water for domestic use during the outage.

2. Keep all taps closed during the disruption to prevent water loss or damage when the supply is restored.

Hi Almal,

Na aanleiding van die onlangse advertensie vir die pos van CLO, ontvang ek steeds navrae. Ek wil graag van hierdie geleentheid gebruik maak om te bevestig dat die pos nou gevul is.

Kom ons wens 𝐑𝐢𝐚𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐦 geluk met sy aanstelling as ons nuwe CLO. Hoewel dit Riaan se eerste keer is in 'n CLO-rol, bring hy 'n sterk agtergrond in site supervision, technical maintenance, and client engagement.

Die recruitment vir die oorblywende labourer posisies is ook afgehandel, en aanstellings sal binnekort plaasvind.

Aan diegene wat nie suksesvol was hierdie keer nie - moenie moed verloor nie. Geleenthede soos hierdie lok dikwels honderde aansoeke, en alhoewel nie almal vir 'n spesifieke rol gekies kan word nie, moet dit nooit 'n rede wees om op te hou probeer nie.

Dit is belangrik om jouself nie net tot government poste te beperk nie. In die regering ontvang poste dikwels duisende aansoeke, en die werklikheid is dat daar eenvoudig nie genoeg poste is om almal te akkommodeer nie. Daarom is dit so belangrik om ook geleenthede in die privaat sektor en ander industries te ondersoek. Bly oop, bly gemotiveerd en hou aan om jouself vorentoe te sit – die regte geleentheid sal kom.

Ek moedig inwoners ook aan om die RDM Macassar Community Centre te besoek, wat nou saamwerk met die Department of Labour. Deur hierdie partnership is baie inwoners reeds in permanente poste geplaas.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the privilege of visiting many of your homes, churches, schools, and walking the streets of our community, having heartfelt conversations with so many of you. These moments - listening to your concerns, hearing your stories, and working with you on practical solutions - are truly the most meaningful part of the work I do.

Over this weekend, a few residents who had booked meetings with me for tomorrow needed to cancel due to other commitments. This has opened up a few extra hours in my schedule, and I’d really like to use that time to make myself available to anyone who would like to see me - no appointment needed.

Dear Residents,

The burst pipe has now been located and our teams have successfully isolated the issue. As a result, the water supply should be restored to most parts of the ward. However, Link Avenue - where the burst occurred - and the surrounding areas will still experience water supply disruptions.

Our teams have informed me that they are currently attending to multiple burst pipes in other wards that were reported before this one. They will address the Link Avenue issue as soon as possible. Repairs are expected to be completed sometime today or during the night. They sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.
