Apparently this 21 year old boy was stabbed to death by this 53 year old man for pouring him with water during spring celebration.
What we are seeing today is painful. Our young people need places to play, learn, create, express themselves and enjoy healthy entertainment. When schools and communities don’t have enough activities for them, some youth start creating their own entertainment—and sometimes that entertainment crosses the line into disrespect and harmful behaviour.
But let us also teach our youth something important: having fun should never mean hurting or disrespecting someone else.
If you want to play, play with people who have agreed to play with you. Don’t pour water on an elderly person, a stranger, or anyone who does not want to participate. What may seem like a joke to you can be frightening, humiliating or dangerous to someone else.
