WAKO Signs Collaboration Agreement with FISU to Promote 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐊𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐛𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝𝐰𝐢𝐝𝐞
WAKO President Mr.Roy Baker, together with WAKO First Vice President Mr. Espen Lund, signed a formal Collaboration Agreement with the International University Sports Federation (FISU) aimed at 𝐟𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐤𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐛𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐈𝐒𝐔 𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤.
Recognizing the important role of University sport in encouraging participation, personal development and sporting excellence, WAKO and FISU will work together to create new opportunities for student-athletes and promote the practice of kickboxing among Universities worldwide.
Under the agreement, FISU will organize and facilitate educational programs aimed at increasing the understanding of and participation in kickboxing within Universities and among its members. At the same time, WAKO will actively promote University sport and support the integration of University competitions featuring kickboxing into its sporting calendar.
The collaboration will also focus on encouraging the development of kickboxing and increasing participation among university students of all genders, while promoting the shared values of both organizations: education, inclusion, fair play, respect and excellence.
Through this partnership, FISU and WAKO aim to provide athletes who are at the Universities with additional opportunities to combine academic education with high-level sporting development.
WAKO President Roy Baker stated:
