🚨‼️Water crisis update‼️🚨

Please that the sump at raw water
Pump is filled with sand of about 2m high which needs a proper flushing so that the pumps can be unblocked.

The team has promised to work tirelessly to resolve and restore water to the community of both Bushbuckridge south and Nsikazi north (Hazyview area).

We will surely keep you updated until the issue is resolved.

🚰 HOXANI WATER TREATMENT PLANT UPDATE – BUSHBUCKRIDGE 🚨

Bushbuckridge Local Municipality has responded to community concerns about the ongoing water challenges affecting Mkhuhlu and surrounding areas.

📌 What’s the problem?
The water interruption is caused by a blocked sump at the Hoxani Water Treatment Plant, filled with debris such as reeds, leaves, and other materials. This blockage happened during the heavy rains experienced about two weeks ago.

🧑‍🚒 What has been done so far?
Divers were brought in last week to help clear the blockage. Unfortunately, due to the strong and dangerous water flow in the Sabie River, they were unable to safely dive in and complete the work.

⏳ What’s next?
The municipality has confirmed that the team promised to be back on site from tomorrow (Sunday) to resume the operation — weather permitting. If heavy rains occur again, the work may be delayed for safety reasons.

🙏 The municipality has asked residents to remain patient as efforts continue to restore normal water supply.

As I said panel is 100% commissioned, cable joining is close to completion and power supply is connected.

Hopefully by midnight pumping will resume and the community will have water soon.

Stay calm and be patient with us the problem is about to be resolved.

Water is life and water is a basic need.
