💜🩵 SU***DE PREVENTION MONTH: HEIDELBERG, LET’S LOOK OUT FOR ONE ANOTHER
September is officially recognized as Su***de Prevention Month — but looking out for one another shouldn’t be limited to just one month of the year.
In our communities, we never truly know what someone may be going through behind closed doors. A neighbour, friend, colleague, family member or even someone we greet every day may be struggling in virtual silence.
Sometimes, the most important thing we can do is simply take notice.
📞 Check in with someone who seems withdrawn.
👂 Listen without judging or immediately trying to fix things.
❤️ Remind people that they matter and that they don't have to face difficult times alone.
🤝 If you are seriously concerned about someone, involve a trusted family member, teacher, healthcare professional or another responsible person who can help.
And remember — asking someone if they are okay does not require you to have all the answers. It simply shows that you care.🫶
Let’s build a Heidelberg where we don't just know our neighbours — we look out for them.
If you are struggling, please reach out to someone you trust and seek professional support. If someone is in immediate danger, contact emergency services or get them to the nearest emergency department.

💛 All it takes is one conversation. One act of kindness. One person taking the time to listen. It can matter more than we realise.
