SEMOTSWANE MAN STABBED TO DEATH BY SUSPECTED MADMAN

A well-known man in Semotswane village near Tonota was stabbed to death this morning by a suspected mentally ill person.

The deceased was widely recognised in the village for moving around with his donkey cart and selling firewood.

He was attacked while looking for his donkeys in the gardens of Mandunyane.

According to reports, the suspect confronted him and stabbed him with a sharp object.

He was rushed to Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital where doctors confirmed his death.

Shocked residents described him as a peaceful and hardworking man, saying the community has lost a familiar figure.

Police are investigating the matter.

Embalenhle - SAPS Seeking Public Assistance in Identifying Two Unidentified Bodies

Embalenhle, 10/09/2025 – The Embalenhle South African Police Service (SAPS) is requesting the public's assistance in identifying two deceased adult males currently held at the Evander mortuary.

Case 1: Embalenhle CAS 131/02/2024 - IO Sergeant Ramahashi
• On February 17, 2024, at approximately 20:00, an unidentified adult male was discovered on road X19, Embalenhle, with injuries consistent with a motor vehicle accident.
• The deceased was wearing black tracksuit trousers, a black T-shirt, and white underwear.
Case 2: Embalenhle CAS 193/12/2024 - IO Warrant Officer Makhathe
• On December 18, 2024, at approximately 14:00, an unidentified adult male was found deceased near the Klipdrift/Roodebank farming area along the Leslie/Standerton road. Preliminary investigation suggests the deceased drowned in the river.
• The deceased was wearing blue "Sasol kind of" trousers and a black T-shirt.
The Embalenhle SAPS is urging anyone with information that may lead to the identification of either of these individuals to come forward.
