Hope Morema is K2C's Community Engagement & Learning Team and is working on waste management in the Bushbuckridge area. She recently organised a big clean-up along the Sand River in collaboration with Save the Sand, an NGO focusing on the health of the Sand River.The initiative on this stretch of river instigated by ongoing monitoring which identified the area as an illegal dumping hotspot. Together with the fact that the Sand River runs into the private reserves and ultimately the Kruger National Park, it was considered a high priority for intervention.
