The blog was launched on the 23rd of January 2012 by Goodman Lepota who has now become Chief Executive Officer, of ALAians Media 2012-2013. We envision a credible platform where students can share their life stories to the international community. We encourage debates and discussions on issues that affect the African continent. 18-year-old Founder and CEO, Goodman Lepota from South Africa says,”I am excited to see ALAians Media become a credible media enterprise like Time Inc., one of the largest branded media companies in the world, at a small scale. I aspire to become a CEO of a media giant in Africa. I also want to go into politics and governance with a mission of improving African electoral and presidential campaigns.”
Chief Financial Officer, Jeffrey Asunmonu. Nigerian, 18 years old. I am responsible for finding the interests of the ALA community, our immediate customers. I conduct research and receive feedback in order to improve our enterprise. I also work with the project directors (depending on what task we have at hand) to oversee projects. I search for innovative methods of idea implementation. I want to develop my skills in media, especially in making videos and reporting. As the middle man for our customers, I also want to create an impressive and highly reputable face for the enterprise. Editorial Manager, Egor-Egbe Alheri. I love reading and expressing myself, especially through writing and speaking. Given this mix of interests, I jumped at the opportunity of becoming an inaugural member of ALAians Media. I could not think of more intriguing SEP. I am very excited about working as the Editor- in- chief of ZUVA and the Year Book. I envision a magazine that will be highly appreciated by the ALA community, and that will share our work and stories to the world. Online Contributor’s Editor, Hazem Fahmy. Egyptian-American, 16 years old. I find a crossroads of my interests in journalism and decided to explore this interest both for experience and to practice my passion for writing. I determine and manage the content on our blog (ALAian Life). Head of Journalism, Boikanyo Tefu. South African, 19 years old. I want to develop my skills as an analytical and critical writer. The media is a powerful tool and I want to use it to its full potential through writing and telling stories that I share with the rest of the world.
