What’s one of the biggest mistakes first-time networkers make?

The confident, salesy ones often walk in ready to sell to everyone in the room.
But the seasoned networkers? They’re there to connect.

That mismatch usually leads to missed opportunities—and zero real business.

So what should new networkers do?

Relax.
Introduce yourself.
Ask questions and be genuinely interested in others.

If you meet just 2 or 3 interesting people and enjoy learning about their businesses, that’s a great first networking experience.

Don’t worry about whether people will be interested in what you do—they will be.
Start by being curious about them. Most times, they’ll naturally ask about you in return.
