At the beginning of this month I attended a life changing event at the Industrial Development Corporation in Sandton. My key lesson was that the South African government, individuals who are visionaries and different organizations continues to create endless opportunities for women, find a progressive group and join one. Do not always do things alone โ and on this day, I was reminded that sisterhood remains the best hood. ๐ซ
I want to thank Dr. M, my sister who has loved and supported me from the day we met. My deepest respect goes to Princess Radebe, the visionary behind Women for Women Africa, for creating and driving opportunities that uplift women across the continent.
Mbali Myeni from Postnet, Audrey Ndlovu founder and CEO of Umzamo Analytical Services and many inspirational speakers showed me that indeed all things are possible.
I was so inspired by Charlene Louw Charlene Louw, CEO of Beer Association South Africa whose passion for empowering women is truly moving โ she almost teared up when sharing that only 5% of women are seizing opportunities within agro-processing. The business ladies truly showed up and showed off โ and what an incredible MC we had Lulu Hangaala Wood from Zambia.
But the moment that truly shook me was when Nkosazana Nokuthuka Nokky Ndlovu from Projectized Management looked me straight in the eye and asked, โWhat are you doing for your people back home?โ
That question pierced my heart because I keep saying I will commit โ but words mean little without action.
So when I come knocking on your doors for collaboration to transform Vhembe, please bear with my desperation. It comes from a place of deep purpose and love for my community.
It is important that I give back. ๐๐
