Chinette Gallichan, a 35-year-old labour law attorney from Krugersdorp, was shot and killed in a targeted daylight attack in the Johannesburg CBD on Monday morning, March 23, 2026. She was shot shortly after 9:00 AM.
She was shot dead outside the CCMA offices in Johannesburg in what is believed to be a targeted hit. She was gunned down in broad daylight just after arriving for a case.
Apparently nothing was taken from her, raising serious concerns that this was not a random act, but a planned ex*****on. At the time of her death, she was working on a labour dispute involving a mining company and retrenched workers who were seeking compensation.
This has deepened speculation around the possible motive behind the attack. Chinette was known in legal circles and had built a strong career in labour law.
