Behind the Lens: My Journey to Simcha Live Streaming
From the very beginning, my life has been shaped by a deep passion for video. As a child, I spent countless hours with my late uncle, Gary Block, a visionary at King David High School, who brought stories to life on stage and on screen. He taught me the magic of capturing moments—lessons that became even more precious after his sudden passing in 2012. Though he is no longer here, his influence lives on in every frame I shoot.
Creativity has always been my strength. Being on the cusp of the autism spectrum has only heightened my ability to see the world differently—to craft stories with precision, emotion, and depth. My journey into the media world truly took off in 2018 when I interned at TVMallSA, diving into the world of broadcasting. Then, in 2021, a call from Bendeta Gordon changed everything, offering me the role of producer, director, and editor at the Iownit Expo at Wanderers Stadium.
But it was in 2022 that my true calling found me. When my cousin Saul’s wedding in Australia had to be live-streamed due to lockdowns, I saw the power of connecting people through video. Inspired by Jon Moss, a top-tier live-streaming professional, I brought the concept to South Africa—taking a leap of faith with the backing of my incredible family.
Starting small, I hit the streets of Glenhazel, proudly wearing a shirt that said Eitan’s Studios Video Live Streaming. But I knew I needed something more memorable—so Simcha Live Streaming was born. With the support of industry professionals like Rob Turner and many others , I learned, improved, and built a name for myself in the events world.
What I love most about this industry is the unity, the togetherness, and the joy of helping people share their most treasured moments with loved ones across the world. I’m not just streaming events—I’m bringing families closer, no matter the distance. And I can’t wait to keep doing what I love.
Let’s make every simcha unforgettable—together!
