I was at Home Affairs yesterday, and it really struck me how much we have to run around just to get all these documents—IDs, passports, licenses, certificates—when it could be so much simpler. What if Home Affairs created a digital e-wallet, like a banking wallet, but for all our official documents? Everyone would sign up with an email (for backup), and instead of a password, it would unlock with your fingerprint. You’d have your ID, passport, driver’s license everything right on your phone. And this could be global—any smartphone, downloaded from the official government site. Of course, I know not everyone is comfortable with tech—so for older citizens, say 40 and above, they can continue using their physical IDs and licenses. But for everyone else, it would make life so much easier no more lost documents, just a simple scan, and all your records with you, always. And even if you lose your phone, you can just get a new device with a fingerprint scanner. Once you download the app, it will prompt you to scan your fingerprint, and only you can unlock those documents keeping them completely safe.I’m just a dj but i think this could make things easy.
