SOLANGE AND MIGUEL TO HEADLINE AFROPUNK JOBURG 2019 FESTIVAL WITH PERFORMANCES FROM MASEGO, GOLDLINK, NAO, RICO NASTY, DISTRUCTION BOYZ, BUSISWA, SHO MADJOZI, ZOË MODIGA, TCIYF, AND OTHERS

AFROPUNK, the world-renowned festival and movement, has announced the lineup for its critically acclaimed, two-day-long annual celebration, AFROPUNK Joburg, which will take place on DECEMBER 30 and 31 at Constitution Hill in Johannesburg. AFROPUNK Joburg’s 2019 edition continues to feature one of the most exciting and inclusive festival lineups in the world. Headlining the festival this year are, Grammy Award-winning singer, Solange and funk/R&B artist Miguel. Additionally, DMV rapper Goldlink will make his debut on the African continent, while his longtime collaborator Masego will bring his trap-house-jazz vibes. Boundary-pushing artist Rico Nasty is expected to get the crowd bouncing with her “sugar trap”, while Durban-based GQOM duo, Distruction Boyz are set to bring the house down. Additional acts include Busiswa, Sho Madjozi, Zoë Modiga, Morena Leraba, Da**ie Fiction, with many more artists to be announced.

PUMA 's 2nd Co.Creative drop with Lama Jouni presents Rive Gauche Thunder.

The second installation of the PUMA Co.Creative Lama Jouni drop is inspired by the southern bank of the river Seine in Paris known as the “Rive Gauche”. With a paired down, feminine attitude featuring the Thunder in two colourways - Peach Beige-Glacier Grey and Dress Blues-Peach Beige. Matching apparel includes a full zip velour top, off-shoulder top with mesh detail, and Cameo Rose oversized cargo sweatpants that encapsulate the luxury and sophistication of Paris Rive Gauche.

Here's how we're stepping into Feb fam!

PUMA is set to release the Nova GRL PWR sneaker, as designed by Lola Plaku, music industry power player and Lola Media Group CEO. The sneaker features a bold, 90’s inspired silhouette, a slim mesh upper, leather overlays and vibrant colour blocking.

Lola shares, “This campaign is truly about building self-esteem and creating a platform for self-discovery, growth and empowerment. Girls and women should believe they can be anything they want to be.” Having forged her own path in the male-dominated music industry, Lola is passionate about paving the way for other women by fostering career development.

and Dubai-based contemporary label LAMA JOUNI have joined forces to launch an exclusive range of Thunder footwear under PUMA’s new collaborative platform, Co.Creative. This creative partnership will feature two collections, drawing on Lama Jouni’s time spent in Paris, where she pursued Fashion Design at Parsons and trained under respected fashion houses like Balmain. The first drop is inspired by Rive Droite, the right bank of the river Seine in central Paris - from its architecture to fashion, choice of colours to textiles and silhouettes. The Thunder styles feature a strong urban inspired colour scheme, and drops in in two colourways – Deep Lagoon-Orchid Bloom and Glacier Gray-Barbados Cherry.
