Tough night in the ring, but a moment that does not take away from the journey, the sacrifice, or the heart shown every step of the way.

Vadim Musaev of Russia stops South Africa’s own Thulane Mbenge in Round 3 to take the welterweight crown. While the result was not what we hoped for, this performance does not define the fighter Tulz is, nor the countless hours of hard graft, discipline and dedication that brought him to this stage.

Champions are built in moments like these. The early mornings, the brutal sessions, the weight cuts, the belief when no one is watching. Tulz, you carried the flag with pride and fought with courage against world class opposition. That alone commands respect.

You will be back stronger, sharper and hungrier than ever. South Africa stands proud of you, and we are behind you all the way.

Onwards and upwards.

Down a man early but never down for long - the dug deep and showed true South African grit to beat Italy in style.

Even after Franco Mostert’’s red card, the team stayed composed, kept the intensity high and ultimately ran in seven tries for a dominant 32-14 win.

Coach Rassie Erasmus didn’t just rely on brute strength - he deployed some clever innovation, showing the available depth of the South African Men’s rugby team players.

That kind of resilience and tactical ingenuity? Exactly what championship rugby is made of.
